One of our special business simulations includes a disciplined, integrated approach to strategic planning.
As a Strategist, the manager has three roles: strategic planning, strategic thinking and strategy management.
Strategic planning, which gives purpose and direction to the firms future actions, requires the setting of objectives and the development of a detailed plan of activities that are interconnected, time phased, and financially sustainable. In some sense, it’s a mechanical task of organizing activities over time.
Management teams, particularly in smaller companies, might have the need to use a disciplined, integrated approach to strategic planning. Often, strategic planning is done in a vacuum. But, if done and learned within the context of a simulated business environment, it can have more meaningful and actionable outcomes.
Plus, our simulation allows for doing “what-if’s” in a risk-free environment.
An advantage of our Strategic Planning simulation is that it provides a variety of interconnected business situations in which participants repetitively analyze circumstances, establish objectives, and lay out plans of coordinated activities that extend several planning periods into the future.
All along they use tools and templates embedded in the simulation to help them. Each planning period presents a new set of circumstances that call for reevaluation of yesterdays plan.
We can build customized action planning exercises throughout the workshop to help the development of actionable outcomes.
Our consultant-facilitators are seasoned executives with hands-on experience with strategic planning.
